I’m in love with Spring. It is hands down my favorite season! When winter is finally over and I feel that first day of 75 degree weather I’m already starting to think about what flowers I am going to plant, ways I am going to make my home feel fresh and airy, and the list goes on…..I just stay in a day dream. It’s been so gross outside here lately, that I couldn’t wait to welcome Spring!
No matter where you are, if it feels like Spring or if you feel stuck in winter still, I am going to share 5 ways to bring spring indoors to keep that Spring feeling going.
Spring decorating always makes my home feel clean and fresh and brings a new life into the home after a cold winter!
1. Flowers
Probably my favorite way to welcome Spring every year is with fresh flowers. The look and smell of fresh flowers puts any girl in a good mood, right?!
You can almost find anything to stick flowers in, a simple elegant vase, pitchers…..a few of my favorites are here and here. I am always changing those out for the season and they are inexpensive which is even more of a win win!
Some other great ways to decorate with fresh spring flowers is to hang fresh wreaths inside. They just bring life to any space. This is something I just started doing last year and it really brightens up the room. I was so afraid to waste money on something I knew was going to die in a few months, but I have found that the real wreaths I’ve had always dry very beautifully so I have still used them in many spaces of my house.
2. Bring In Spring Colors
I always get a great feeling of changing out my accents of color from my darker winter colors to my lighter Spring/Summer colors. I absolutely love my darker winter colors during the season, but by the time Spring rolls around I am ready for a pop of color.
I love adding pops of color to my Spring decor, especially pastels. I know pastels are probably trademark Spring colors, but they are so classic and timeless. My favorite ways to quickly and easily do this is by changing out my pillow covers and throws. Who would think such a small thing would make such a difference?!
3. Bring in Spring Scents
Who else is usually guilty of still using their Christmas/Holiday hand wash well into the summer season? (Hand raise here!) One new thing I have added to my Spring decor, is changing out my hand soaps for fresh & light spring scents.
Maybe it is only in my imagination, but when its sunny out, and I hear the birds chirping, and then I wash my hands with my fresh Spring soap I just feel happy (too much?!). This year I picked up a $5 HUGE bottle of hand wash from HomeGoods, and the smell is amazing! Also, look at how cool this label is…and the bottle is glass. I’m smitten!
4. Change Out Your Bed Linens
I don’t know if changing out your bed linens is proper Spring Decor etiquette, but I always bring out my linen bed sheets, take off my down comforter, and add my light quilts. I wait all year to bring out my stonewashed Belgian linen sheets! I make it a big deal 🙂
Something about hopping into a fresh made bed with linen sheets, your quilt, and a breeze coming through the windows, just makes me dream of taking a nap!
And those stonewashed Belgian linen sheets again…..love!
5. Change Out Your Kitchen Towels
Spring is also a time I love to bring out my pretty (not so fancy) kitchen towels. Here are the ones I am rocking right now in my kitchen. I am currently using these from Ikea, pretty sure they were $4 and they are great! They don’t feel or look cheap at all.
There are so many ways to bring that light Spring feeling into your home and there are so many ideas out there. I always get Spring decor envy when I look at everyones fancy Spring finds. I usually try not to over do it, but also make it comfortable and inviting.
Hopefully you have enjoyed my quick run down of 5 ways to bring spring indoors as much as I have! It’s been nice to take a little break from the One Room Challenge Home Office Makeover and just enjoy some of this nice Spring weather!
What are some of your favorite ways to decorate for Spring?
Have a great weekend!
Wonderful post Holly and I absolutely love the towels from ikea! They are so pretty, I’m going to have to snag some. Those linen sheets look amazing as well. Great finds!
Thanks, Ashley! Yes, they are great! I was just in there today and it was hard not to walk away with more! ha
I need to do some of these tips! I bought some fake flowers…becuase I can’t keep anything alive and then I can enjoy them all season long, that counts right? Bought some fun Summer stuff, but no Spring stuff, so maybe I”ll just have it up for extra long? Hmmm…what to do, what to do… Stopping by from the link up.
Thanks for stopping by! Fake flowers totally count! I am not the greatest of keeping them alive either, but I’ve gotten better! I do have my share of fake ones as well though! 🙂
