For some, sharing Christmas Decorating Ideas this early makes them cringe, but for me it just feels right! I honestly start thinking about my decorating plans in October so when November comes around I can start taking advantage of any holiday sales that come up. So I have decided to go ahead and share with you all my plans, so you can take advantage of the sales too!
I am sharing with you my mood boards for the main areas of my home that I decorate every year. I love mood boards and I’ve included in these mood boards the items I have purchased already, plan to purchase, or already have on hand. These mood boards really help me plan out and not overbuy decor (I know, holiday decor is so hard to turn down) and also helps me imagine what the room will look like when it all comes together!
Hopefully these mood boards help you in your Christmas decorating plans! The sources for all of the items pictured are linked below each of the mood boards. I hope you get some inspiration from these!
Entryway Christmas Decor
Buffalo check and plaid are here to stay in my home! I have tried to venture out with the new trendy colors each year, but always find myself coming back. To me plaid just always feels like Christmas and is so cozy and inviting. One of my goals this year was to add more greenery to each room, so I plan to have at least a small pre-lit tree and fresh wreaths in each room. I am loving all of the pillows Pottery Barn is offering this year and can’t wait to add some new ones to my collection this year, they are going to look so pretty on the bench in my entry.

Living Room Christmas Decor
In the living room I wanted to keep things simple. I find that I fall in love with so much Christmas decor and seem to sometimes make it a little too much. So this year I wanted to keep it minimal with pops of red, green, and of course plaid! The 9 foot tree in our living room is our traditional tree that houses our special ornaments that we have collected over the years and have meaning. I knew I wanted to keep that tradition going in the living room. One thing I was really excited about this year was adding in some vintage bells and new garland for the fireplace!

Dining Room Christmas Decor
I don’t usually do to much in here other than add a few plaid dishes along with a cute little Christmas quote sign over my buffet. One addition to the decor in the dining room this year is the addition of a couple of the small pre-lit trees that I will be adding on my dining room table along with some large red ornaments that will be go with my centerpiece. (More to come on that soon!)

Bedroom Christmas Decor
There is nothing better than curling up in your warm bed on a cold winter’s night! I love a good cozy bed anytime, but something about decorating your bedroom for Christmas makes me even happier and cozier! My favorite new add to my bedroom Christmas decor this year is this red buffalo check duvet cover, it totally makes the room!

Office Christmas Decor
This will be the first year that I am decorating my home office. Since moving my home office from upstairs to my old dining room, this room is the most exposed from the outside which means one thing…..I need a tree in this room! I have wanted a flocked tree for a couple years now, and I have finally broke down and purchased one and I love it! The flocked trees are selling out quickly online, so be sure to check this one out if you think it’s something you want. This tree sold out quickly last year. I also added in a little bit of flocked garland which I am obsessing over!
