It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! I am crushing hard on this years holiday trends. Follow along and check out 8 Christmas decor trends you’re gonna love!

I think I finally have all of my decor out, minus the wreaths on my windows and fence outside (on my to-do list this weekend). šŸ™‚ This year I kept my decor pretty traditional. It’s really hard for me to branch out with my Christmas decor, I feel that my decor consists of things we have collected throughout the years and we just can’t manage to break the tradition. With that said however, I have really been crushing on a lot of the Christmas Decor trends for this year and I can see myself branching out and incorporating some of these into my current decor. It’s not too late to still go decor shopping right?! Since I’ve been looking all over the web for Christmas decor inspiration, today I wanted to share with you 8 Christmas Decor Trends for 2017 that are super hot right now!

Christmas Decor Trends

1. Bells

Bells, bells, and more bells! I am really loving this trend. It brings me back to when I was a kid and every year my granddad would ring the bells outside as a signal for all the kiddos to go home and head straight to bed because Santa was on his way! I have been seeing these everywhere from people hanging them on their doors, chairs, and incorporating them into their wreaths. One of my favorites that I found was a wreath that Rachel from Shades of Blue Interiors used in her Christmas dining room. I really love the vintage bells that she used. Take an olive wreath and a ribbon and a few bells and you can have your own beautiful welcoming wreath like this one!

2. Mercury Glass

I think mercury glass gives a very traditional classic holiday look. I love the way it looks when the reflection from the lights on the tree makes it look like it is glowing…so pretty!

3. Live Greenery

For years I stayed away from live greenery because I hated how it would die so quickly and faux is just so easy to use over and over again every year…until last year! I got my first live greenery wreath and mailbox swag and I will admit there was nothing like it. It has been my goal since moving into our new house to incorporate more live greenery (throughout the year) in my home. Something about it makes me happy and it smells fantastic! As I was looking around at some inspiration for a Christmas tablescape, I came across this one and feel in love! From the fir chargers to the wicker jug filled with eucalyptus & cedar branches, I am hooked!

4. Plaid

I have loved plaid for a long time so it makes me really happy that it doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon! It if you search plaid Christmas in Pinterest you will find tons of great ideas, but I love all of the plaid decor at Craftberry Bush this year. Check it out!

5. Scandinavin Christmas Decor

The simplicity of the Scandinavian holiday decor is huge this year. Scandinavian Christmas decor is all about keeping it simple with clean and light decor and simple greenery. Heading back over to Shades of Blue Interiors (all of her decor is just so fabulous this year!), the way she decorated her Scandinavian Christmas kitchen is perfect!

6. The Christmas Printable

Everywhere you look someone is offering free printables…and why not take advantage of them?! They are beautiful and you can frame them and you have fabulous free wall art for your home. There are some majorly talented bloggers out there with some amazing printables. When it comes to Christmas printables they are easy to find, but I find myself always heading back to my same favorites. Here is one from Danielle over at Finding Silver Pennies (one of my favs!). This one is beautiful…Check it out!

7. Flocked Christmas Tree

I’ve never had a flocked tree, but after this year I want one! I have seen stunning pictures this year of flocked Christmas trees and I feel like they’re everywhere.Ā  I love Rachel’s over at Maison de Pax, and her flocked tree is so beautiful!

8. Tiny Christmas Trees

These are so cute and I recently saw them at the Target One spot. They are great for adding to your mantle decor or your holiday tablescapes. So many ways you can use these. Check out some of the ideas on pinterest….you will find plenty! Look at this great idea of someone adding them into an ornament. So cute!

I too love trees and other greenery that have flocking. Does anyone know of a product available so I could do it myself?

    • Holly @ Life on Southpointe Drive says:

Yes! I have seen several people do it this year. I would just go to Amazon and type in tree flocking kit and there are several brands. One I know of is called Peak Seasons, but I have never tried it. Let me know how it goes it you try it!
