This chili is not only quick and easy, but savory and sweet! Packed with tasty ingredients and a little bit of brown sugar to give it that perfectly sweet taste! The best part, it truly is an easy 30 minute chili.
Quick and easy are two words I love to hear, especially when it comes to cooking dinner! I used to think that in order to get a really great tasting chili it would have to cook for at least a couple of hours. Well that is not the case with this chili! This chili is not only savory but also has a great sweet taste to it and it can be easily adjusted to make it paleo friendly!
This chili is my go to recipe for a really cold evening or when I’m just craving a good comfort food. I constantly get compliments on this chili, and I finally think I have found the perfect balance between savory and sweet.
Not only is this chili quick and easy, but it only requires a few ingredients and can be cooked in one pot! Can I get a yay for less dishes?! I will walk through the steps, or you can just go below and snag the recipe from there!
Like I said this is a one pot recipe, so you start by browning your 1lb of ground beef, 1 large onion, and garlic in your soup or stew pot. You can also do this in a crock-pot but you would need to brown the beef before adding it to the crock-pot.
You’ll then add your 30oz can of tomato sauce, 15oz can of baked beans (I use the Original recipe), 15oz of ranchero beans, and then top with all of your spices and mix well. The ranchero beans will also add a bit of a spice to it. (These can also be substituted for regular black beans drained if you prefer).
Then for the magic ingredient that brings it all together….the brown sugar! I usually use around 2 tablespoons to 2 1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar. I will do this to taste so it’s about finding the right balance of sweetness. For me I’ve found it to be around 2 tablespoons.
Then all is left to do is put the lid on and simmer for 30 minutes. If you’re cooking in a crock-pot cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Then when it’s time to eat top with some sour cream and cheese and you’re good to go! This recipe is also great for freezing, so make in big batches and enjoy!

This looks so yummy! Consider the entire East coast is having a snow day or a rain day, great timing!
I know, we’re going on day 4 of snow here in Tennessee too! I think I may need to make more! 😉
